Boston’s Back Bay is world-renowned for its welcoming boulevards, distinctive architecture, handsome landscaping, noted landmarks, convenient transportation, and cosmopolitan shops, restaurants and hotels. This environment creates a highly desirable work environment as well as a commercially dynamic neighborhood that attracts consumers, residents, and businesses from around the globe.
How do we keep the Back Bay vibrant and attractive to employees?
By working together. The 300 member businesses of the Back Bay Association (BBA) act as a powerful voice for neighborhood interests. As Back Bay’s largest and oldest nonprofit business organization, the BBA represents businesses, retail merchants, restaurants, hotels, property owners, major corporations, schools, nonprofit organizations, and churches.
What does the BBA do?
The Back Bay Association is the advocate for the Back Bay business community. The primary focus of the Association and its membership is to ensure the continued commercial strength of the area and to initiate programs that improve, promote, and protect the quality of life in Back Bay. We serve as a liaison between the private and public sectors concerning such issues as: public improvement projects, new developments, zoning and land use, permits and licensing, public safety, parking, promotion, transportation issues, and architectural renovations/signage.
Who can be a member?
The BBA is open to those with business interests in the Back Bay.
What are the membership benefits?
The Back Bay Association provides support and advocacy for individual members by assisting with specific issues of concern. Members of the BBA are better informed of the activities and events which directly shape the Back Bay business climate and are represented through the Back Bay Association’s participation on advisory groups and commissions focused on the area. As a BBA member, you will receive timely notification of the activities, events and issues that shape the Back Bay business environment and can meet and network with other Back Bay business people at Association sponsored events. Our membership is encouraged to share news with other member businesses in the Back Bay Association’s newsletter.
What does it cost?
Annual dues vary according to the type and size of business, employees, and gross sales.
