There’s a lot to look forward to (eating) in 2020.

Krasi and Hecate, 48 Gloucester Street
Krasi and Hectate is a two-for-one coming to Gloucester Street, just off of Newbury. Krasi will be a natural wine bar with Greek meze while Hectate will be a European-style cocktail bar. How do we know it’s going to be good? The team behind the new dining venues includes the brains behind Cafeteria, Grek.co, and Committee.
Look for Krasi later this winter, with Hectate to follow.
Double Zero, 163 Newbury Street
If you’ve heard of the fully-vegan food hall in Providence, you’re going to be extra excited for the opening of Double Zero. This vegan, wood-fired pizzeria (part of a chain from the same restaurateur) will serve up pizzas with both cashew-based and rice-based mozzarella or cream, as well as a number of pastas and small plates. Gluten free crusts will also be available.
Look for Double Zero sometime this year.
The Street Bar and Rooftop at The Newbury, 1 Newbury Street
ICYMI, the Taj is re-debuting later this year as The Newbury. This rebrand is bringing a new look and feel to Newbury Street’s grand dame, as well as all-new dining options.
The new Street Bar will open inside the hotel, offering cocktails to well-heeled locals and out-of-towners alike.
The Rooftop will also be making a debut as a full-service restaurant. The glass-enclosed roof (with retractable panels for those gorgeous summer days) will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Look for the hotel and Street Bar in spring/summer 2020 and the rooftop in the fall.
Grand Tour, 314 Newbury Street
Michael Serpa (of Back Bay favorite and Best of Back Bay Restaurant Select Oyster Bar) is bringing Newbury Street one of its most anticipated additions of 2020: Grand Tour. Grand Tour will be a Parisian-inspired bistro serving up comfort classics like steak frites, with a focus on meats (including game meats) and vegetables.
Look for Grand Tour in January 2020.
Lucie Drink & Dine, 120 Huntington Avenue
We have good news for the many heartbroken fans of Brasserie Jo: Lucie Drink & Dine is coming to the Back Bay favorite’s former spot inside The Colonnade. Featuring a global menu, this new hot spot will serve up a global menu, craft beers, old and new world wines and a cocktail program featuring signatures, classics and updated favorites. LUC!E Drink + Dine will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and a late-night menu — seven days a week.
Look for LUC!E Drink + Dine sometime this winter.
Nusr-Et Steakhouse, 100 Arlington Street
Remember Salt Bae? He’s more than just a meme: he’s Turkish restauranteur Nusret Gökçe and he is (most likely) coming to Back Bay. The restaurant group behind the project hasn’t confirmed the news yet, so stay tuned!
