President and Executive Director

Meg Mainzer-Cohen has been the president and executive director of the Back Bay Association since 2000 and has a long, successful track record of working on programs that improve the community.  She was the Chief Executive Officer of the Somerville Community Corporation, Somerville’s only community development corporation (CDC), which was dedicated to promoting positive social and economic change, and developed and managed affordable housing.  For seven years, Ms. Mainzer-Cohen worked for the Downtown Crossing Association, a nonprofit association of businesses dedicated to the civic, economic and cultural development of Boston’s central business district.

Michael Maggio

Director of Membership

Michael joined the Back Bay Association in July 2022 as the Membership Director. Michael will focus on strengthening the Association by supporting its members through a variety of services and forging new relationships with the Back Bay community. 
Prior to the Back Bay Association, Michael worked with communities throughout New England. Specializing in youth sports programs by providing solutions and consultation on program growth and retention, coach and player development, club operations, and fundraising efforts. 
Michael Attended Lasell College where he earned a bachelors degree in communications with concentrations in marketing and public relations. He was also a member and two-year captain for the Men’s Lacrosse team and went on to play professionally for the Boston Cannons of the MLL (major league lacrosse).
