This fall, Bar Boulud adds new locally-inspired dishes to its French bistro menu and will host festive seasonal pop-ups at the Bar and Lounge.
Combining regional harvest ingredients with classic bistro fare, signature fall dishes from Bar Boulud Executive Chef Brian Arruda include: Butternut Squash Soup, a classic fall warm-up dish featuring local honey; Smoked Pumpkin Agnolotti, with toasted pumpkin seed, crispy sage and vincotto (available as both a starter or main course); Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad, with delicata squash, pomegranates, shaved parmesan and apple cider vinaigrette; Day Boat Sea Scallops, garnished with braised endive, shaved carrot and carrots beurre blanc; and Boudin Blanc, truffled pork sausage, pomme purèe and mustard jus.
The seven-seat oyster & raw bar that first debuted this spring continues to offer fresh New England seafood year-round, with local oysters from Barnstable, Duxbury, Nantucket Bay and Wareham. Its incredible signature Seafood Tower to share boasts a luscious selection of oysters, shrimp, lobster and crab, along with other raw bar offerings.
Accompanying Bar Boulud’s savory selections, Pastry Chef Robert Differ will showcase an assortment of decadent desserts with an autumnal flair including: Butternut Pumpkin Tart, with marshmallow meringue, maple gelato and pepita crisp; Macallan Butterscotch Crème Brulée (pictured at top),featuring smoked salt biscuit, anjou pear sorbet, Demerara sugar; and Apple Pie Coupe, with gala apples and pie crumb, topped with caramel foam.
The Bar and Lounge will offer fresh and adventurous Halloween-themed cocktails now through Oct. 31, and a new seasonal fall cocktail list including autumnal takes on classic libations like the Cosmo, the Negroni and the Manhattan.
Additional bar programming at Bar Boulud includes live jazz on Saturday evenings from 10pm to 1am with students from Berklee College of Music and Happy Hours, which are available Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Happy Hours feature bar bites, local craft beers and signature cocktails.
Guests can enjoy the crisp and refreshing New England fall air during the final weeks of the seasonal terrace, open through Oct. 31, weather permitting. The full restaurant menu will be available daily from 12 noon to 10 pm through the end of the season.
