The Aardvark Jazz Orchestra will hold its 44th Annual Christmas Concert at Emmanuel Church.
The concert will feature Mark Harvey’s piece No Walls, an anthem of inclusivity, healing and joy, together with jazz carols and selections from the Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite – an exuberant big band take on the perennial classic.
Proceeds will benefit the Refugee Immigration Ministry (RIM), an organization of multiple faiths and cultures that provides support to individuals and families who have been uprooted by violence.
Tickets: $20 at the door. Information: 617-776-8778 or 617-452-3205.

But Eddie soon becomes aware of the seriousness of his accusation and he’ll do anything to establish the truth, even if it means he risks losing everything.
PRAISE
Nicolas Duvauchelle was nominated for Best Actor at the 2017 César Awards and 2017 Lumière Awards for his performance in the film.
A Decent Man (Je ne suis pas un salaud) is a dark and brooding portrait of contemporary malaise…
– Jordan Mintzer, The Hollywood Review
Finkiel incisively builds his lead characters, subtly developing relationships along with alienation, resentment and racism to paint a picture of an average Joe whose weaknesses are distressingly commonplace.
– Jay Weissberg, Variety

WATCH THE TRAILER
Join the French Cultural Center for their first Ciné-Club de l’Alliance of the fall as they screen the critically acclaimed thriller, Elle by Paul Verhoeven.
Isabelle Huppert puts in a Golden Globe worthy performance as Michèle Leblanc. Michèle seems indestructible. Head of a successful video game company, she brings the same ruthless attitude to her love life as to business. Being attacked in her home by an unknown assailant changes Michèle’s life forever. When she resolutely tracks the man down, they are both drawn into a curious and thrilling game-a game that may, at any moment, spiral out of control.
The Bristol Restaurant & Bar makes Hump Day the best day of the week with their Burgers & Burgundy. Every Wednesday night, burger lovers can enjoy the object of their gastronomic desire paired with tastings of two Burgundian-style wines. It’s a tasty little opportunity to try something new as the paired wines, chosen by the in-house wine director, will be from bottles that aren’t regularly available by the glass. Burgers & Burgundy costs $35 per person not including tax or gratuity – the burger itself is on the menu (augmented, as it is, with Vermont cheddar, house-made pickles and truffle fries) for twenty bucks so it’s not a bad deal. Call The Bristol at 617.351.2053 for more information.
