Whatever you call it, it translates to the same Fabulous and Mysterious last hurrah before Lent!!
It’s not just New Orleans and Rio that will have all of the fun this year…BYPA is hosting its own Boston Mardi Gras!! Complimentary Beads, Masks, appetizers, and renowned “King Cakes” will be waiting for you upon arrival.
The BYPA Mardi Gras Party will be hosted at LIR on Tuesday, February 28th from 6PM to 10PM (you can stay and play at Lir until 1AM!) Mardi Gras colors are Purple, Gold, and Green.
Tickets will be available until noon on February 28th for FREE as a Boston Calendar Subscriber, any remaining tickets will be sold for $20 cash until we are at capacity. Official members of BostonYPA who RSVP in advance will also attend for free.

King Cake Contest: There will be one King Cake for every 25 attendees, with one Mardi Gras “baby” in each King Cake. Those that find the babies will be entered into a King/Queen of Mardi Gras contest. The winner of the contest will be crowned King or Queen of Mardi Gras with a crown and tons of throwing beads and win a prize!

Beyoncé’s original all-female band celebrates its 10-year anniversary at Berklee, led by Tia Fuller, a professor in the Ensemble Department. The band will include original members Nikki Glaspie ’04 (drums), Rie Tsuji ’02 (keyboard), Bibi McGill (guitar), Brittani Washington (piano), Divinity Roxx (bass), Katty Rodriguez (tenor saxophone), Crystal Torres (trumpet), Marcie Chapa (percussion), and students in Berklee’s Beyoncé Ensemble. In addition, current Beyoncé dancer Ebony Williams ’05 will choreograph and perform with students from Boston Conservatory at Berklee on select songs and current Beyoncé background vocalist Crissy Collins will perform with the ensemble.
The group will feature music members played while on tour, drawn from Beyoncé albums B’Day, The Beyoncé Experience, and I Am…Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas, and will also perform some of her newer material. Berklee alumnus Nikko Ielasi ’15 is the musical arranger, current student Jonathan Foo is the producer, current student Niya Norwood is the vocal director, and current Berklee student Josh Foster is the student musical director.

Beer isn’t just for drinking! Join Post 390 to kick off Farm to Post “Cooking with Craft Beer” on Wednesday, January 24. Post 390’s “Farm to Post” tasting series features a monthly spotlight on some of New England’s finest farmers, producers, vineyards, brewers, and fishermen and focuses on ingredients that are sourced locally, and produced sustainably. Every month or so Executive Chef Nick Deutmeyer and his team create a special “Farm to Post” menu highlighting products from these farms and producers.
The first dinner of the 2018 series will include a unique menu with craft beer and cider from Bantam Cider Company, Lamplighter Brewing Company, Jack’s Abby, and Berkshire Brewing Company incorporated into each dish.
Tickets are $55.00 and include a welcome reception, four course dinner, and beverage pairings. Chat with some of New England’s top craft brewers while you discover a new way to enjoy your favorite beers. Tax and gratuity are included. Limited tickets available.

A Cheese Filled Evening
On Wednesday, April 4th, the cheese stands together at Post 390 for a very special Massachusetts Cheese Trail Farm-to-Post dinner. Executive Chef Nick Deutmeyer has invited his cheesiest friends to the restaurant and created a menu to showcase the best in Massachusetts cheesemaking. Representatives from local fromageries like Upinngil Farm, Ruggles Hill Creamery, and Westfield Farm will be on-site to discuss their cheeses while you enjoy a four-course dinner with each course showcasing a different maker. The evening kicks off at 6:00pm with a welcome reception over passed hors d’oeuvres featuring three Upinngil Farm cheeses, followed by a quartet of queso courses, and finishing with a bonus cheese from Shy Brother’s Farm (in case you get the munchies in the Uber). Tickets are $55 including tax and tip, and if you can’t make it, the Mass. Cheese Trail menu will be available during dinner service at Post for a limited time.

If you’ve been patiently biding your time for the chance to talk craft beer with the experts, Post 390 has the opportunity for you. On Sunday, April 8th, the contemporary Back Bay tavern hosts their annual Sip & Slide party featuring a line-up of local breweries (the sips) and a slew of gourmet sliders (the slides) from Executive Chef Nick Deutemeyer. From 12:00-2:00pm, you’ll get to mingle with the brewery reps from area faves like Jack’s Abby, Notch, Lamplighter, Berkshire Brewing, Two Roads, Harpoon and Bantam Cider.
