Earth Day 2018 at Eataly Boston
Apr 21 @ 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Tastings by Sustainable Producers

Every year, Earth Day reminds us to celebrate our planet, protect the environment, and reflect upon our impact as humans.

From recycling to bicycling, our daily choices can make a difference. This year, join Eataly as we choose to support our local producers, whose sustainable products are good (taste delicious), clean (don’t hurt the environment), and fair (treat employees well).

Earth Day

From 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, our marketplace will be transformed into an open farmer’s market featuring over a dozen of our local producers, who will offer complimentary tastes of their sustainable products that are regularly stocked at Eataly. From cheese to charcuterie to wine, our producers will share the stories behind their wares, in addition to suggestions on how to incorporate them into recipes.

Then, on April 22, enjoy 50% off compostable espresso capsules! This line by Caffè Vergnano, Italy’s oldest roasting company, is the first range of compostable capsules compatible with Nespresso machines. Send these capsules back to the Earth through a commercial composting system.

Earth, Wine, & Fire Dinner at OAK Long Bar + Kitchen
Apr 22 @ 5:00 pm – Apr 23 @ 1:00 am

Celebrate Earth Day at OAK Long Bar + Kitchen

OAK Long Bar + Kitchen is celebrating Earth Day on Sunday, April 22 by turning off its lights from 5 p.m. through closing to conserve energy. More than a hundred candles will be placed throughout the dining room to illuminate the space for an unforgettable “Earth, Wine & Fire” candlelit dinner experience in one of Boston’s most beautiful restaurants.

OAK Long Bar + Kitchen

A special à la carte menu by Executive Chef Graham Lockwood will feature sustainably sourced courses and replace the regular dinner menu for the evening. Each dish will highlight ingredients from New England farms and purveyors (see select farms noted below), and the menu’s wine pairings will spotlight New York State and Oregon wines that are produced and grown with sustainable and biodynamic farming practices. A three-course wine pairing will be offered for $30, or these wines can be ordered by the glass for $13-$18 depending on the selection. Those dining between 5-7 p.m.will receive a complimentary taste of rosé upon arrival. The regular bar menu will also be available.

Sunday’s customers will be some of the first to enjoy OAK as a non-plastic straw establishment. The restaurant is permanently ditching plastic straws starting this Friday, April 20. OAK has already been mindful to create cocktails that don’t require a straw, but for those that do and all other straw requests, Hay! Straws will be used moving forward, which are made from natural wheat stems and are 100% biodegradable. The special “Earth, Wine & Fire” dinner menu will be printed on plantable seed paper, and no single-use item (like cocktail napkins) will be offered to tables.

In honor of Bastille Day, Bar Boulud celebrates with a special four-course wine dinner, featuring traditional Provençal cuisine along with all things rosé from Château d’Esclans.

Located fifteen miles northwest of the Mediterranean coast, in the sun-drenched landscape of Provence, Château d’Esclans is renowned for their mature Grenache vines, which produce grapes that offer a greater concentration of flavor, creating the palate-grabbing collection of rosé, for which the château is known.

On July 14, 2018, join Sommelier David Bérubé and special guest Alex Diard, Wine Ambassador for Château d’Esclans, who will pour pink and educate guests on some of the “finest rosé you will ever find,” according to Jonathan Ray, Drinks Editor of The Spectactor.
