Migrating Colors – Opening and Cocktail Reception
Join us for an enlightening panel discussion and presentation on Haitian art and culture as we celebrate the Le Mois de la Francophonie 2018 and the opening of Migrating Colors, our March exhibit on view in our gallery.
Charlot Lucien, President of Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts (HAAM), will introduce us to Haitian art, while several artists will lead a discussion regarding their origins and influences.
This panel discussion will be followed by a book signing and cocktail reception. All proceeds from the book sale benefit HAAM.
About Migrating Colors: This book is the result of 20 years of cultural advocacy and partnerships with cultural, state, city institutions, poets and storytellers throughout the New England area. It benefited from the support of professional photographers, editors and art partners from Rhodes Island to New Hampshire. The books contains foreword comments by Haitian American author Edwidge Danticat, recipient of the 2009 MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, Massachusetts State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry and Edmund Barry Gaither, Director and Curator of the National Center of Afro-American Artists (NCAAA) who has since the Haiti earthquake helped curate various exhibitions of the Assembly.
Terra Wine Dinner
Francesca Vajra is one of the owner-winemakers for G.D. Vajra in Barolo and will be joining us at Terra to host a very special wine dinner. Francesca’s depth of knowledge and charm will offer compelling insight into this small but renowned producer in Piemonte known for making both adventurous and traditional wines.
With a matured ripening comes an innate elegance and intensity. The soil breeds the wines to be rich and fragrant. The climate lends to smaller batches, where the quality is palpable. As exemplified at the winery: “We believe in beauty, craftsmanship, attention to detail and creativity with respect for tradition” — and it shows!
Together with G.D. Vajra Wines, guests will embark on an exploration of this beloved winery — from Barbera to Barolo and beyond — alongside a delicious authentic menu from our very own Chef Dan Bazzinotti.

Tastings by Sustainable Producers
Every year, Earth Day reminds us to celebrate our planet, protect the environment, and reflect upon our impact as humans.
From recycling to bicycling, our daily choices can make a difference. This year, join Eataly as we choose to support our local producers, whose sustainable products are good (taste delicious), clean (don’t hurt the environment), and fair (treat employees well).
From 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, our marketplace will be transformed into an open farmer’s market featuring over a dozen of our local producers, who will offer complimentary tastes of their sustainable products that are regularly stocked at Eataly. From cheese to charcuterie to wine, our producers will share the stories behind their wares, in addition to suggestions on how to incorporate them into recipes.
Then, on April 22, enjoy 50% off compostable espresso capsules! This line by Caffè Vergnano, Italy’s oldest roasting company, is the first range of compostable capsules compatible with Nespresso machines. Send these capsules back to the Earth through a commercial composting system.
