Join Post 390 for the fifth of a 6-part “Farm to Post” dinner series in 2106. This dinner will highlight the best of Kimball Fruit Farm, a third generation family-run farm owned and operated by Carl and Marie Hills. The evening will start with a reception, followed by a four course dinner.
Tickets are limited and are available for $55.
The final date for the the dinners series will be November 2nd for their “Novemberfest” celebration.

Kimball Fruit Farm grows a variety of fruits and vegetables for the retail and wholesale trade at their Pepperell store and 12 farmers markets throughout New England. Aside from over 70 varieties of award-winning heirloom tomatoes, they are swimming in peaches (white and yellow freestone), corn (white and two color), apples (nearly 40 varieties), pears (6 varieties), and an amazing array of other fruits, vegetables, greens and herbs.

Discover the diversity of styles, grape varieties and the personalities of this breathtaking 300 mile stretch of the Mediterranean and why it is home to some of the most exciting wines of France. Interactive, fun and educational, Matthew Stubbs will discuss the regions specificities, vineyards and winemaking techniques. By the end of the evening you will know your Picpoul from your Bandol, your Chateauneuf-Du-Pape from your Côtes du Roussillon.
About Matthew Stubbs
After graduating in 1987, Matthew joined Seagram UK, one of the world’s largest drinks companies. During this period he started studying for his wine exams which culminated with passing the Master of Wine in 1996 and achieved the best performance in the Tasting and Winemaking papers. He is one of 342 people in the world to hold this prestigious qualification. After working as the head of the Wine Department of Safeway, the UK’s third largest Wine Retailer, he set up his own wine broking and Consultancy Company in the Languedoc and a Vinécole, a wine school based near Carcassonne.
He now runs courses, wine tours and seminars at this Languedoc base and around the world. His clients include private individuals, wine companies and academic institutions and locations where he currently teaches range from the USA, UK, France and Germany to China, Hong Kong, Japan and Lebanon.

On Wednesday, March 14, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, join OAK Long Bar + Kitchen for a fine wine tasting to discover new domestic varietals that could be your new go-to Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. Taste different wines from Truchard Syrah, Mumm Brut Rose, Dr. Konstantin Frank Semi Dry Reisling, and Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Pinot Noir while indulging your palate with fresh local oysters, charcuterie & cheese, and other delectable passed hors d’oeuvres.
