140 Supper Club Dinner: FRIENDSGIVING at Fairmont Copley Plaza
Nov 20 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Join the Fairmont Copley Plaza for an early stress-free, potentially family-free (unless you decide to invite quirky Aunt Linda), and fun Friendsgiving celebration.

Let’s celebrate with a delicious Thanksgiving meal where you let the Fairmont’s kitchen do all the prep work, cooking, and cleaning. Try new wine pairings that may bring you inspiration for that perfect wine gift to bring to your “real” Thanksgiving dinner. Come share food, friendship, and thankfulness with the Fairmont and kick off this year’s holiday season.

The five course dinner is part of Fairmont Copley Plaza’s popular 140 Supper Club series where guests descend a century-old staircase and whisper a password to be immersed into a themed, intimate dining experience hosted by Executive Chef Laurent Poulain.

Carly Copley’s Birthday (& Retirement) Party at the Fairmont Copley Plaza
Dec 15 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Say farewell to Carly at her retirement party, and welcome Cori Copley to the Fairmont Copley Plaza family!

Fairmont Copley Plaza’s annual puppy party returns on Sunday, December 15, at 1:00pm. The pet-friendly hotel invites guests to celebrate Carly Copley’s 9th birthday, and say farewell as she embarks on retirement. Carly had a successful six-year career in hospitality, providing lovable service to travelers from all over the world. Now it’s time for her to sit back, relax and enjoy life at home with her caretaker, doorman Michael Eades, and his family.

The hotel’s new Canine Ambassador, Cori Copley, and her caretaker, concierge Joe Fallon, will make an appearance to toast her good fur-friend, Carly. This is Cori’s first community event, and she can’t wait to meet everyone! She is a two-year-old black Lab adopted from the Guide Dog Foundation, the same organization the hotel partnered with to adopt the famous Catie Copley back in 2004. Representatives from the Foundation will share remarks, and offer a brief guide dog demonstration for those in attendance.

Hosting the party for the third year is Vanessa Welch, anchor for Boston 25 news. She will read “Catie Copley” to guests, which will be followed by cake (for humans) and special snacks for Cori and Carly’s canine friends.

This beloved holiday tradition is free and open to the public.

In lieu of gifts, Fairmont Copley Plaza invites guests to bring a donation for the canines training at the Guide Dog Foundation’s headquarters in Long Island, NY, where Cori was born and adopted from. They gratefully accept items like fleece blankets, baby wipes, and canned green string beans. Please visit here for the foundation’s wish list, and to reference donations they *cannot* accept.

*This is a dog-friendly event. Dogs must be on leash.

La Chandeleur at the French Cultural Center
Feb 1 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Meet and mingle with other Francophiles while celebrating La Chandeleur!

Also called Crêpe Day, la Chandeleur is a French holiday during which people traditionally eat crêpes and drink cidre. Though la Chandeleur is often associated with the Catholic holiday of Candlemas, it actually stems from pagan traditions. And, of course, there is the traditional coin ritual: if you can flip a crêpe while holding a coin in your other hand, you and your family will not have to worry about financial problems. There is even a fun legend that ties Napoleon’s misfortune with his time in Russia with the flipping of the crêpes!

The French Cultural Center will observe this popular holiday with crêpes and a variety of delicious toppings. All ages are invited and welcome to attend!

Please note: When you register for a family, you are registering per family. You will be required to answer a question on the number of family members that will attend.

Early RSVP recommended.
