Join Terra on Tuesday, March 20 for a Roman-style wine dinner featuring both classic dishes (and some with a unique, modern twist!) from Italy’s capital. Chef Dan Bazzinotti and Beverage Director Jessica Brennan have worked together to develop an exquisite five-course menu that highlights both wines indigenous to the region as well as local ingredients in dishes such as Carciofi alla Romana and Quaglia con Farro.

This Roman food and wine celebration will be $140 per person (including gratuity!) and has limited seating so book now!

Learn the art of flower arranging for your holiday table, explore all that the Club House at Trunk Club Boston has to offer! Get your holiday fashion vibes going with this beautiful event with cocktails, bites, flower arranging and fashion!

What To Expect

The flower arranging can take anywhere from one to two hours, depending on the complexity and format of the arrangement. Alice’s Table provides aprons for you to wear for the duration of the event. Working with flowers can be messy, so make sure to wear something you won’t mind getting a little dirty.

What Should I Bring?

You don’t need to bring anything out of the ordinary with you – we provide the flowers, vases, and tools you will need to create your arrangement.

When it comes to throwing a party, Terra knows how it’s done…by adding fun cocktails, smoky bites, and a festive Italian twist to the mix! On December 31, don your finest mask (or we will provide you with one, too!) and ascend to our greenhouse oasis for a grand Italian masquerade. As soon as you enter the party, you’ll be greeted by complimentary bubbly to kick off the evening. Our live band, The Silver Arrow Band, will play sweet tunes as party-goers dance the night away under the sparkling stars—all while balancing enticing cocktails in hand. And the perfect accompaniment to those hand-crafted drinks? Rustic bites from Terra, one of Boston’s ‘Top 50 Restaurants of 2018!’ Terra’s award-winning Executive Chef Dan Bazzinotti has designed a very special menu of passed appetizers for guests to indulge in throughout the night.

To help you get your threads refreshed right away, Denise Hajjar Boutique will also be on-site with great wardrobe and accessories available for sale.

Fashion Show at the French Cultural Center

Celebrate fashion with an exclusive show at the French Cultural Center.

Join the French Cultural Center for a fashion show featuring seven emerging designers from across the globe, live music, and over 30 exclusive looks. (Plus, open wine bar!)

Curated by Lana Barakat of Beacon Hill’s December Thieves boutique, Boston-designer Christian Restrepo and Toronto’s Nuit Atelier will present their own creations during the show.

Event starts promptly at 7:00 PM with an open wine bar. The fashion show is comprised of two fashion collection showings with a 10 minute intermission in between. We will close the evening with a wine and hors d’oeuvre reception where guests can mingle and meet the designers. Complimentary light hors d’oeuvres and an open wine bar will be provided, hors d’ oeuvres crafted by Chef Cyrille Couet courtesy of Colette Bistro.

Designers included in the show feature: Rundholz Apparel and Trippen Footwear from Germany, Lurdes Bergada from Spain, NostraSantissima from Italy, Studio B3 from Poland, Nuit Atelier from Canada and Christian Restrepo from Boston.

Two Centuries of French Fashion at the French Cultural Center

An Ephemeral Exhibit with the Lasell Fashion Collection and Boston Fashion Week

Join the French Cultural Center in celebrating Boston Fashion Week with a unique look at curated French pieces from the Lasell Fashion Collection. This unique exhibit and separate private tour of the collection are for one evening only!

Free and open to the public, the general reception will start at 7:00 PM and run through 9:00 PM, with light refreshments.

Ephemeral Exhibit: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The Fashion Collection team at Lasell University have curated an exceptional intimate fashion retrospective spanning two centuries and multiple designers. On display will be 17 pieces from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Jeanne Lanvin, and Comme des Garçons among others. These select pieces, including an original 1880 Parisian opera costume, will face each other in an exhibition that tells the story of their eras through their designs and the techniques used in their creation.

Jill M. Carey, Professor and Curator at Lasell University, Stephanie Hebert, Collections Manager, and their team of passionate students will be available to guide guests in this exceptional journey enriched by interactive components.

This event will mark the launching of the website and digital catalog of the University’s own permanent fashion collection.

Private Tour: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Limited tickets to a private tour and presentation of historic French hand fans with fan historian and collector Shelly Goncalves, former president of the Fan Association of North America, are available for purchase.

 

About the Lasell Fashion Collection
Established in 1996, the Lasell Fashion Collection (LFC) contains approximately 3,000 objects and currently resides in the Donahue Center for Creative and Applied Arts. While the collection spans 200 years of fashion history, the LFC is notable for its 20th century designer fashions, with an emphasis on couture. In 2018, over 1,200 artifacts were transferred to the LFC upon the closure of the American Textile History Museum in Lowell, MA. This important acquisition enriched the breadth and depth of the LFC’s holdings, specifically in 19th and early 20th century everyday wear, undergarments, and accessories.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Boston Week! Boston Fashion Week was founded as a civic initiative in 1995. The force behind the week has been dedicated to creating opportunities that increase the viability and visibility of the local industry. The series of fashion related events throughout Greater Boston and beyond serves as a platform for both established industry professionals and aspiring newcomers to showcase their work as well as network with peers and the public.

This winter, escape Boston’s frigid temperatures for a lively evening by Terra’s warm wood-fired grill as you indulge in rustic food and Tuscan wine pairings! On January 30, award-winning Chef Dan Bazzinotti invites restaurateur and salumi producer Chef Cesare Casella to take over the Terra grill.

The five-course menu will revolve around seasonal ingredients and pork used from a whole pig raised at Chickering Farm – a demonstration of the versatility of this rich meat and the beauty of utilizing an entire animal. Guests will enjoy smoke-kissed plates (like house-made sausage and tableside prosciutti carvings by both chefs to start the meal) designed by Chef Bazzinotti and Chef Casella – a partnership made all the more special due to the duo’s personal connection and love for salumi.

Terra Wine Dinner: Behind Natural & Biodynamic Wines

Beverage Director Gregg Guertin takes you back in time to the way wine used to be.

During the next Terra Wine Dinner, Eataly’s Beverage Director Gregg Guertin takes us back in time to the way wine used to be—before the addition of pesticides, chemicals, and additives to today’s agriculture.  Each wine pairing during this multi-course dinner will be an expressive, unique, and raw example of grapes in their truest form so that you may taste distinctive characteristics of the grape varietals while appreciating terroir and the growers’ techniques. Along with natural wines, you’ll enjoy biodynamic wines—bottles which are made with a holistic view on agriculture and balance the resonance between vine, man, earth, and stars.

Just like the wine, the five courses prepared by Terra’s Executive Chef Dan Bazzinotti will also draw from primitive roots of cooking and ingredients while showcasing Terra’s wood-fired grill as the main attraction. These dishes will utilize meats from local farms using organic and sustainable methods; wild and sustainable Massachusetts seafood; and local, organic, and foraged fruits and vegetables showcased in their true form to create the perfect pairing with each wine.

During the dinner, you will have the opportunity to learn about the ingredients and stories behind our wines and food directly from our experts. Chef Dan will take you on a journey through all the dinner’s ingredients including the Frantoi Cutrera Primo organic olive oil from Sicily used in the preparation of local seafood; the Country Hen eggs that give our housemade pasta its bright, yellow color; the local, humane, non-GMO meat raised at Chickering Farm in Westmoreland, NH; and our fresh produce from local farms, foragers, and purveyors who strive to keep the quality intact.

Terra Wine Dinner: A tour of the hills of Valtellina

Ascend to Terra for a multi-course dinner under the stars (with wine pairings!) for a culinary tour of the valley with one of the region’s most celebrated producers: Nino Negri. The former winemaker’s daughter herself, Sara Maule, who now resides locally, will guide you through this captivating landscape and introduce the traditions of Valtellina.

The Valtellina is an Alpine valley in Northern Lombardy, just below the border with Switzerland, that was carved out by the mighty river Adda.  The valley lies in between the Rhaetian Alps to the north and the Bergamo Alps to the south.

Nino Negri, located in this very valley, was established in 1897 is one of Italy’s most celebrated producers in the Valtellina.  The winery operates to this day in a centuries old castle, and uses the original cellars with natural underground temperature control to age their wines.

Each wine will be perfectly paired to savory courses like Pizzoccheri alla Valtellinese, a traditional Alpine pasta dish. You will dive into flame-kissed flavors of the seasonal ingredients prepared over Terra’s famous wood-fire grill as you discover the stories and history behind the dishes and wine.
